Reviews & Ratings

Leave an honest review, understand how average ratings work, and report reviews that break the rules.

How ratings and reviews work

Any Stitch user can leave a star rating and a written review for a place. Reviews are public and appear on the place's profile along with the reviewer's name, so other users can see them before deciding whether to visit or contact the business.

A place's average rating is calculated from all the individual ratings it has received. The review count next to the rating tells you how many reviews that average is based on — a place with very few reviews can have an average that shifts a lot with each new one.

How to leave a review

  1. Open the place profile and scroll to the reviews section.
  2. Tap Write a Review (or the star rating).
  3. Choose a star rating and, optionally, add written comments about your experience.
  4. Submit — your review appears on the place's profile and counts toward its average rating.

Write honest reviews

Reviews should reflect a genuine experience with the business. Don't review a place you've never actually dealt with, post multiple reviews for the same place from accounts you control, accept payment or another incentive for a positive review without disclosing it, or coordinate with others to inflate or deflate a rating. Business owners may not post fake reviews of their own business or dishonest reviews of a competitor.

Honest, specific reviews are the most useful to other users and to the business itself — they help good businesses build trust and give owners real feedback to act on.

Moderation and reporting

If you see a review that looks fake, is abusive, harasses the business or another user, or otherwise breaks our Community Guidelines or Places Business Terms, you can report it from the review itself. Stitch reviews reports and may remove reviews or restrict accounts that violate these rules at its discretion. Business owners cannot delete a customer's review themselves — legitimate complaints about specific reviews should be reported for Stitch to evaluate, not resolved by removing negative feedback unilaterally.
