Place Photos & Street View
Tell owner, customer, Google, and Street View photos apart, upload your own, report a photo, and use the full-screen viewer.
Owner photos, customer photos, Google photos, and Street View
A place profile can show photos from up to four sources, and Stitch distinguishes between them:
- Owner photos — uploaded by the place's verified owner or manager to showcase the business.
- Customer photos — uploaded by any Stitch user who visits or interacts with the place.
- Google photos — sourced from Google Places/Google Maps for Google-backed places. These belong to Google, not Stitch, and are shown with attribution.
- Street View — a street-level preview image sourced from Google Street View where coverage exists for that location, shown separately from the regular photo gallery.
How to upload a photo
Any Stitch user can upload a customer photo to a place; verified owners can additionally upload owner photos.
- Open the place profile and go to its photo gallery.
- Tap the add/upload button.
- Choose a photo from your device or take a new one.
- Confirm the upload — it appears in the gallery, labeled as an owner or customer photo depending on your relationship to the place.
How to report a photo
If a photo looks wrong for the place, is inappropriate, or violates our Community Guidelines, you can report it directly from the viewer.
- Open the photo in full-screen view.
- Tap the report or options icon.
- Choose a reason for the report and submit it.
- Stitch reviews reported photos and may remove them at its discretion; you won't need to take further action after reporting.
Using the full-screen photo viewer
Tapping any photo in a place's gallery opens it full-screen. From there you can pinch or double-tap to zoom in on details, and swipe left or right to move between photos in the gallery without going back to the grid each time. A close button returns you to the place profile.
Photo rules
Photos you upload must actually depict the place, must be your own or ones you have the right to share, and must not be sexually explicit, illegal, misleading, or expose someone else's private information without consent. See our Places Business Terms and Community Guidelines for the full rules — violations can lead to photo removal and, for repeated violations, restriction of your ability to upload.
